一、Introduction to SNII authentication

SNII is the abbreviation of Standard National Indonesia, which means the Indonesian national standard, SNII for short, is the only standard applicable in Indonesia, developed by the Indonesian Technical Committee and defined by the Indonesian National Bureau of Standards. NI in September 7, 2007, as of 2010, the Indonesian Ministry of Industry has issued 53 kinds of mandatory industrial standards (Standard National Indonesia/SNII), involving automobile and motorcycle parts, home appliances, building materials, cables and other fields. Products that do not pass the National Standard Indonesia/SNII certification will be banned from sale, and products that have entered the market will be forcibly removed from the shelves. All controlled products exported to Indonesia must have SNII marking, otherwise they cannot enter the Indonesian market.

SNII certified product range

The mandatory product range of SNI certification in Indonesia is divided into four categories

1) Home electronics, Telecommunications and T equipment (46 items in total)

2) Building materials (8 items in total)

3) Automotive material parts (total 24 products)

SNII authentication process

1) The manufacturer or importer registers the product trademark in Indonesia

2) Apply to SNII certification body

3) Manufacturers, importers, and SNII sign the agreement

4)SNII sent officers to conduct an initial inspection of the manufacturer's factory to take samples

5) The product is sent to the Indonesian National Laboratory for testing

6) After the preliminary examination and product test pass, submit relevant technical documents for review

7)SNII issues certificates

8)SNII authorizes manufacturers to label products

9) Supervision, regular sampling inspection

SNI certification validity period

The SNI certification cycle usually takes about 4 months, which may be extended or shortened according to the completeness of the documents, sample test results, factory audit results, etc. The SNI certificate is usually valid for 4 years, and a factory audit is required every year
