IC Certification Introduction
IC is the abbreviation of
IndustryCanada as a government agency to stipulate the testing standards of
analog and digital terminal equipment, responsible for the certification of electronic
and electrical products into the Canadian market, the import of electronic
products must pass the relevant EMC certification. Its responsible products are
roughly radio and television equipment, information technology equipment, radio
equipment, telecommunications equipment, engineering medical equipment, etc.,
similar to the United States FCC, IC is currently only limited in
electromagnetic interference.
1. Regulatory
unit: Industry Canada (IC)
2. Norms:
C.R.C.,c.1374 (Radio Interference Regulation) ICES-003 (Interference-Causing
Equipment Standards)
3. Nature of
regulation: mandatory
4. Control method: accept FCC Grant; You can go
through customs with an FCC DoC or FCC ID.
5. Both English and French must be marked on the
Label or Manual as follows:
The Class [*] digital apparatus meets all
requirements of the Canadian Interference-Causing Equipment Regulation. Cet
appareil numerique de la class [*] respecte toutes les exigences du Reglement
sur le materiel brouilleur du Canada .
* : Insert either "A" or "B" but
not both are appropriate for the equipment requirements
The standard of IC certification is basically the
same as that of the FCC, and IC is currently limited only on electromagnetic
interference
ICES-001:Industrial,
Scientific and Medical Radio Frequency Generators
ICES-003:Interference-Causing
Equipment Standards-Digital Apparatus
Such as ICES003: ITE: products and computer
peripheral office equipment, etc., IC RSS Series low-power radio frequency
products. Such as :RSS 210, applicable products: wireless mouse and keyboard,
wireless remote control toys and various low power radio frequency products,
CS03(telecommunications terminal product PSTN)
The FCB in Canada, equivalent to the TCB in the United
States, issues IC certificates, and can also issue IC ids, which are generally
transferred directly to IC,VCCI,MIC, and BSMI certificates when doing CE and
FCC. IC (Industrial Canada) : The certification requirements of Industry Canada
for electronic and electrical products EMC, Telecom wireless products,
communication products, etc.
IC Certification Process
Applying for a certificate:
The applicant is applying for an IC for the first time, and needs to apply for
a permanent Company code. The number represents the applicant and will always
be used. If there is a new application, just add a suffix number of less than 9
characters to the original company code as the IC certificate number;
When all the materials required by IC are ready and the test
report has been completed, the applicant will send the IC code, test report and
required materials to IC and FCB for certificate application.
At the end of the process, the IC and FCB will send the IC
certificate to the applicant and save the IC code in the IC database. After
receiving the certificate, the applicant can sell or export the corresponding
products.
