Details of SEC certification in Chile
1： Why do we need to do sec certification in Chile, based on what?
CHILE SEC APPROVAL – D.S. 298/2005  Chilean regulations
The state agency sec (super integrity of electricity and combustion fuels) of Chile has passed safety and energy efficiency regulations, and adopted recognized laboratories and certification agencies to control the electrical, gasoline and fuel products entering the Chilean market. Before the product is sold to the Chilean market, it must pass one of the certification modes (there are many certification modes, and the first, second, and sixth certification modes will be introduced below) to obtain the certificate of approval, SEC QR code (below) and energy efficiency certificate.
SEC QR code is a compulsory mark of SEC certification in Chile, which must be printed or pasted on the certified products.
2: which products need SEC certification and energy efficiency certification?

Since 2007, Chile has enforced the energy labeling program for the first batch of products. So far, the products that have carried out compulsory certification of energy consumption include: incandescent lamp, refrigerated freezer, fluorescent lamp, air conditioner, microwave oven, halogen lamp, LED lamp, washing machine and printer;
3： What is the operation procedure of SEC in Chile?

There are 6 schemes for SEC in Chile, and the following 3 schemes are suitable for China:
Certification mode 1: including form test + evaluation of each subsequent batch
Mode 1 process:

2。 after the approval certificate is issued, the customer / applicant must inform us about each batch of goods exported to Chile
3.We will take a certain number of samples according to the quantity of goods after each batch of goods arrives at the port, and make necessary tests. Only products passing the test can be put on the market for sale. The sampling quantity is as follows:

Certification mode 2: including formal test + factory inspection + semi annual product evaluation test + semi annual market spot check

Mode 2 process：
1Provide at least 3 samples for testing and obtain the approval certificate and SEC QR code. After obtaining the approval certificate, the product must be pasted with the SEC QR code.
2 After the approval certificate is issued, it will be sampled from the market once half a year (sampled by Chilean laboratory institutions in Chile) and from the factory once half a year.
3  Conduct annual factory inspection once a year (certificate is valid for a long time, as long as factory inspection and sampling are accepted)
Certification mode 6: approval of foreign certification + supervision and test of each batch of goods
Mode 6 process:
1 The importer must first submit the certification certificate (such as GS VDE TUV mark UL, etc.) which has been obtained by Chile SEC! Please note that the foreign certification that can be recognized must be issued by the foreign certification authority recognized by IAF member or contracting country, and the certificate can be found on the website of the certification authority.
2 The importer will inform us of the arrival of the imported goods. We will arrange sampling and simplified testing and obtain the approval certificate. The sampling quantity is determined according to the quantity of imported goods as follows:

4： What should be paid attention to in test certification?
1.All tests must be carried out at 220V, 50Hz
2.The test unit is determined by the model involved in the test. Please confirm the test unit with us before the test.
3.For products requiring evaluation of clauses 19.11.4.1 to 19.11.4.7 (EMP), the test report must be provided by ILAC laboratory and submitted to us for evaluation.
4.The SEC agreement in Chile requires verification that the size of the plug meets the requirements of Chile. And only data from sec authorized laboratories will be accepted.

5： What should be paid attention to in product marks and instructions?
1.Nameplates need to show: date of manufacture, serial number, safety warning (if applicable), country of origin, certificate number (not required for simplified testing)

3.Instructions, safety, use and maintenance instructions must be in Spanish
4.QR code must be added to the product after obtaining the certificate (mode 1 and mode 2, mode 6 is the customer post arrival)
5.For products falling into energy efficiency control, energy efficiency label shall be added according to Chilean standard after obtaining energy efficiency certificate

6.Chile safety approval certificate must be obtained before obtaining Chile energy efficiency certificate
6： About the importance of local agents?
The Chilean certificate must be held by a local company or individual in Chile. If the customer does not have a local agent, our company can provide local agent service, and the agent fee is extra.
