The Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) is a national standards organization under the Ministry of Industry. TISI has the right to certify products according to established Thai standards, and the Thai government requires mandatory certification for 60 products in 10 industries, including: agriculture, building materials, consumer goods, electrical appliances and accessories, PVC pipes, medical equipment, LPG gas containers, surface coatings and vehicles.

Introduction to Thai Standards Industry Association(TISI)
TISI is an internationally recognized standardization center that ADAPTS to meet the needs of government, business and society and enhances sustainable competitiveness.
Policy:
TISI policies are standardized and committed to promoting and developing industry to maximize the benefits of entrepreneurs, consumers and the country as a whole.
Goal:
1 .Consumer protection
2. Environmental protection and protection of national resources
3. Industrial development to enable competitiveness in the world market
4. Ensure fair trade and remove trade barriers arising from standard measurements
Background:
In 1966, the Thai Industrial Standardization Project was approved and included in the second National Economic and Social development Plan by the Cabinet. In this regard, the draft Industrial Product Standards Bill was submitted to the Cabinet for consideration.
The Industrial Product Standards Act 1968 B.E.2511(1968) was endorsed by Cabinet and enacted with effect from January 1969.
1969 In January 1969, the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) was established within the Ministry of Industry as Thailand's national standards body.
1979 In March 1979. TISI was upgraded to departmental status under the Ministry of Industry. TISI also covers the work of the National Codex Alimentarius Commission.
Responsibility :
TISI responsibilities are based on the following:
1. Industrial Product Standards Act B.E2511(1968)
2. Cabinet decisions
3. Policy and master plan of the Ministry of Industry
4. Government policy
5. National Economic and social development Plan
Mission:
1. Develop national standards and monitor the quality of products and services to comply with requirements and international practices
2. Develop common product standards and provide certification services
3. Promote and develop national standardization activities
4. Carry out bilateral and multilateral cooperation with foreign standardization organizations
5. Provide standardized information
6. Establish a national single standardization network
