The United States FCC certification is the Federal Communications Commission, established in 1934 by the Communications Act is an independent agency of the United States government, directly responsible to Congress. The FCC coordinates national and international communications by controlling radio, television, telecommunications, satellites and cables. It involves more than 50 states, Colombia and territories of the United States to ensure the safety of radio and wire communication products related to life and property. The United States FCC certification is divided into three kinds of certification FCC-ID certification, FCC-DOC certification, FCC-VOC certification.
Scope of involvement:
FCC certification involves more than 50
states in the United States, Columbia and the United States, in order to ensure
the safety of radio and wire communication products related to life and
property, the FCC's Office of Engineering and Technology is responsible for
technical support of the Commission. Also responsible for equipment approval
affairs. Many radio application products, communications products and digital
products to enter the U.S. market, all require FCC approval. The FCC Commission
investigates and studies the various stages of product safety to find the best
way to solve the problem, and the FCC also includes the detection of radio
devices, aircraft, and so on.
The United States has become China's second
largest trading partner for several years in a row, and the Sino-US trade
volume is on the rise year by year, so exports to the United States cannot be
underestimated. The technical standards and import regulations of the United
States are the first in the world, and understanding the market access rules of
the United States will help Chinese products further open the American market.
Self-verification:
Manufacturers or importers ensure that their
products undergo the necessary testing to confirm that the products comply with
the relevant technical standards and retain the inspection, FCC certification
test report, the FCC has the right to require manufacturers to submit equipment
samples or product test data. Devices applicable to self-verification include
commercial computers, TV and FM receivers, and industrial, scientific, and
medical devices used by non-mass consumers under FCC Rule Part 18.
Declaration of conformity:
The responsible party of the equipment
(generally the manufacturer or importer) tests the product in the qualified
testing institution designated by the FCC to ensure that the equipment meets
the relevant technical standards and retains the test report, and the FCC has
the right to require the responsible party to submit the test data of the
sample of the equipment or the product. Equipment subject to the declaration of
conformity includes home computers and peripherals, civil broadcast receivers,
superregenerative receivers, other receivers of FCC RulePart 15, television
interface equipment, cable system terminal equipment, and industrial research
and medical equipment used by mass consumers under Part 18. The responsible
party shall have the equipment marked as follows:
The FCC reviews the
samples (or photos) and test data submitted by the applicant and authorizes an
FCC ID number for the device if it meets the requirements of the FCC rules.
Equipment applicable for certification includes low-voltage transmitters such as
cordless telephones, remote controls for automatic doors, radio-controlled toys
and security alarm systems, Part 15 devices that intentionally emit
radio-frequency energy, Part 18 industrial, scientific and medical devices used
by mass consumers, automatic frequency conversion receivers and
superregenerative receivers, television interface devices, and other devices
that are used by the general public. And home computers and their peripherals.
The responsible Party shall have the device marked with an FCC ID: Note: If the
device is suitable for two or three approved categories, the responsible Party
shall choose.
Relevant rules
According to the provisions of the relevant
part of the United States Federal Communications Regulations (CFR 47 part), all
electronic products entering the United States need to undergo electromagnetic
compatibility certification (except for some products specifically specified in
the relevant provisions), among which there are three common certification
methods: Certification:(Products with radio transmitter, must do FCC
Certifiction(infrared transmitter is not under control), DoC:(common products
include IT products, microwave ovens, energy-saving lamps, ballasts, etc.)
"Verification" : Common products include audio and video products. .
The certification methods and procedures of these three products are quite
different, and the certification methods available for different products have
relevant provisions in the FCC. The degree of rigor of its certification is
decreasing. For these three certifications, the FCC Commission also has
relevant requirements for each laboratory.
FCC certified product type
<!--[if !supportLists]-->1、<!--[endif]-->Power FCC certification: communication power supply,
switching power supply, charger, display power supply, LED power supply, LCD

FCC certification test project
The general FCC test project mainly looks at what type of certification
the product is::
1、FCC ID (Wireless products must do) Test EMC plus RF
2、FCC DOC(Data transfer or storage function) Separate
test for EMC
3、FCC VOC (In addition to the above all need to do)
separate test EMC
Note: As long as you do FCC certification, you must test EMC
